THE ROLE

We will look to you to lead, manage and develop a team of  social workers, senior social workers, senior practitioners and support staff, in improving the quality of professional social work practice across the breadth of the case work cycle. Promoting a positive working culture, you’ll lead by example, by maintaining the highest standards of practice - and empowering others to do the same.

In this role you will undertake effective assessment and care planning as well as legal planning meetings, child care reviews, writing court reports and attending court. We’ll expect you to oversee the implementation of appropriate legislation, policies and procedures within your team and champion Birmingham Children's Trust values internally. You’ll monitor social work practices within the team through reflective supervision, regular evidence based auditing and feedback. And you’ll demonstrate a real, ongoing commitment to your own – and others’ – professional learning and development.

WHO WERE LOOKING FOR

With a DipSW or equivalent social work qualification, you’ll have full Health Care Profession Council (HCPC) registration, as well as an extensive knowledge of professional social work practices and all the relevant legislation. An experienced social care professional, you’ve should have a proven track record of successfully managing change and service or practice improvement. You’re 100% committed to building and motivating teams, creating a positive working environment and supporting high performance.
