YOU MUST BE A QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER WHO HAS COMPLETED THE ASYE PROGRAMME TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.
Having completed your ASYE, you now have the opportunity to join us as a fully qualified Social Worker, enabling you to develop and enhance the skills you have learnt.
Our Children in Care teams work with children who are subject to care proceedings and help move children into long term permanent arrangements, through rehabilitation home, adoption, SGO and long term foster care.
Our Safeguarding teams intervene with children and families in challenging yet collaborative ways, to prevent significant risk of harm. Focused on positive outcomes, they use Child Protection Plans and Child in Need Plans.
Our Assessment and Short Term Intervention (ASTI) teams assess the situation of children in need who have been referred to us by the safeguarding teams. Many of these children will be living in precarious situations, so you will review the information presented to you and make decisions on child protection enquiries, making sure legislative requirements are met.
You will manage your own caseload, as well as actively promoting a ‘joined-up’ approach to effective partnership working, with service users as well as other teams, agencies and organisations.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
With an approved social work qualification, you will have Health Care Profession Council (HCPC) registration, together with experience of working with vulnerable children and their families, as well as statutory and voluntary agencies. You’ll require a thorough working knowledge of professional social work practices and all relevant legislation, and be able to demonstrate the ability to intervene effectively within situations of complexity and challenge.
